The mission of Bayou City Kids is to partner with parents to disciple their children to know and follow Jesus. We believe that the greatest spiritual impact on a child’s life is when the family and church come together to disciple a child.

Each Sunday during Kids Ministry, we use our Family Discipleship Guides based on Deuteronomy 6:5-9. Our children complete a portion of their guide at church and during the week we ask that parents use the rest of the guide to continue discipling their children at home. Family Discipleship Guides can be found on the Bayou City Fellowship App.

KIDS
SAFETY

All those helping with Kids are screened through an application, comprehensive background check, and reference checks. Volunteers also attend mandatory training where they agree to abide by the Bayou City Child Protection Policy. We provide updated training annually and require a new background check every two years.

Gatherings

In addition to Sunday Gatherings and Milestone Classes, we regularly schedule activities and experiences to engage and equip Kids and their parents. We invite you to learn more about what is available at each campus.

Learn About Milestone Classes

We have designed Milestone classes to help us partner with parents to lay a firm foundation in Jesus Christ as their children move through Bayou City Kids. There are five Milestone Classes: Family Foundations, Bible Beginnings, Baptism, Discipleship, and Fifth Grade Celebration.

Family Foundations | Milestone One

This class is for first time parents or any parents of young children. This class gives an overview of Biblical parenting and opens the door for the church to come alongside parents as they raise their families to love and follow Jesus. It is suggested that parents take this class before dedicating their child.

Bible Beginnings | Milestone Two

This class is for children who are in 1st grade and their parents. Children are presented with a Bible and introduced to how the Bible is organized, how it was written, and why it is important for us to read today.

Baptism | Milestone Three

This class is for children who have expressed an interest in being baptized. This class brings children and parents together to discuss the child's personal decision to follow Jesus and what baptism means. Parents will walk through Scripture with their children to determine if their child is ready to be baptized.

Discipleship | Milestone Four

This class is designed to help parents understand what discipleship is and how to incorporate discipleship into the daily rhythm of family life.

5th Grade Celebration | Milestone Five

This class is a celebration for our 5th grade children who will move from Kids Ministry to Student Ministry. It is a time to celebrate all that God has done in our 5th graders lives and bless them as they move on to Student Ministry.
