Kids

Bayou City Fellowship Kids Ministry offers children, birth through 6th grade, the opportunity to worship and grow in their faith in a safe and fun environment at both of our locations. To maximize safety we use a computerized check-in system. Also, we thoroughly screen all volunteers with background and reference checks, along with worker trainings. Please come 10 minutes early to register your children on your first visit.

If you have any questions, please contact Terrell Lufburrow in Spring Branch (terrell@bayoucityfellowship.com) or Anya Smelek in Cypress (anya@bayoucityfellowship.com).

Littles

Babies (2 months old) – Two Years

Our Littles receive the best care and hear a Bible Story every Sunday. They are on a two year curriculum plan that covers  spiritual truths to help start their foundation of faith in Jesus.

Preschool and Kinder

3-5 Years

The Preschool group gathers in a large group worship experience where they will hear a Bible story, learn a memory verse and sing worship songs together. They break into small groups and do an activity that reinforces the Bible story and memory verse.

Elementary

1st-4th grade

The Elementary group meets in small groups that are broken into the following groups: 1st & 2nd Grade Girls, 1st & 2nd Grade Boys, 3rd & 4th Grade Girls and 3rd & 4th Grade Boys.

All of the Elementary groups will come together for a large group worship experience where they will hear the Bible story for the day and do an activity that reiterates the lesson and memory verse.

5th & 6th Grades

The pre-teens of Bayou City Fellowship gather for their very own ministry time that is tailored just for them. The Spring Branch group meets at 9:15 am & 11:00 am in the gym and the Cypress group gathers in the Ivy Covered Building (located next to the Alamo) at 9:15 am & 11:00 am. These students are encouraged to attend church with their families or serve with our Preschool group if they stay for both services.

Curriculum

The Preschool, Elementary and 5th & 6th grade ministries are all on a curriculum plan that walks through the entire Bible. We want our kids to know that the Bible tells many stories that all come together to tell the story of Jesus, our savior. Bible stories, scripture memory and worship are three components your child will experience each week.

Bayou City Buddies

Bayou City Buddies pairs our children who have special needs or circumstances with a trained buddy for the morning at the 8:15 or 11:15 service on our Cypress campus and at our 9:15 service on our Spring Branch campus. This program is for preschool through elementary age children. Prior to attending Sunday morning, we ask that parents please contact Blair Williamson (blair@bayoucityfellowship.com) on our Cypress campus or Terrell Lufburrow (terrell@bayoucityfellowship.com) on our Spring Branch campus to receive an information form to fill out for your child. This form will help us get to know your child better and help us to better understand his or her needs. The information forms must be filled out before attending on Sunday morning.

Bayou City Buddies Eligibility: We want each child in our care to grow in his or her faith and enjoy the Sunday morning experience with us; therefore, every Bayou City Buddy participant must meet the following criteria to take part in the program:

  • The child must be able to function with a one-on-one buddy volunteer in our normal Sunday morning kids program.
  • The child must not be aggressive or pose a threat to themselves or others or have severe medical/emotional needs that require specialized care.

To be a part of the Bayou City Buddies program, each child’s needs will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, based upon his or her medical, emotional, and behavioral needs.
