The Campus Accountant provides financial services to church members and church staff for their assigned campus. They assist the Director of Business and Accounting with items related to the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the church.
● Supervise the processing of offering from church services and assist with special offerings following the written procedures for the Offering Team. ● Enter all donations to member statements. ● Credit all donations to the proper church fund as designated by the donors. ● Make weekly bank deposits. ● Manage staff expense reimbursements and mileage reimbursements, in compliance with the Expense Policy, verifying receipts and purchase approval, in a timely manner. ● Process Campus Accounts Payable by reviewing the invoices, verifying approval and product or service receipt, and entering all invoices submitted for payment to the accounting system for payment by the due date. ● Assist with benevolence and charitable giving evaluation and payments. ● Print checks, obtain proper signatures and distribute or mail. ● Prepare monthly budget vs actual reports for each campus and ministry and distribute for pastoral review. ● Attend Campus Staff meetings as assigned. ● Distribute all campus mail. ● Make journal entries as required. ● Reconcile bank accounts. ● Recording of returned payments or NSF checks. ● Audit transactions and paperwork for policy violations and to safeguard the church against financial fraud. Report any violations to supervisor. ● Assist in budget preparations. ● Maintain accounting records in accordance with policy, including proper scanning, shredding and disposable. ● Creating and disbursing annual donor statements. ● Maintain W-9 documentation on vendors and contract workers. ● Secure and count additional church funds for special event ticket sales, book sales, tshirts, etc. and make accounting entries as required. ● Troubleshoot and resolve accounting issues for members and church staff. ● Manage finances for evangelism and special events, such as tracking donations for mission trips, retreats, etc. ● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Business and Accounting.
●Love for Jesus, his word and his people ● Bachelor's degree and/or 4+ years experience in accounting. ● Organizational competence, proven through experience ● Leadership skills and traits that are exercised in love and humility ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ● Problem solving and resourcefulness ● Evidence of logistical, administrative and project-oriented effectiveness ● Intaact Accounting Software Experience a plus. ● Excellent computer skills (web, documents, spreadsheets, presentations)
