Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. He went away and conferred with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them. and they were glad, and agreed to give him money. So he consented and sought an opportunity to betray him to them in the absence of a crowd. (Luke 22:3-6)
Beware of making unholy agreements; alliances that are made out of fear. Judas realized his vision of Messiah and Jesus’ vision were not the same. He wanted an earthly king who would sit on an earthly throne and give him earthly treasures. With that dream and the last three years disappearing before his eyes he sought out the Jewish leaders and sold Jesus out.
In moments of uncertainty we run to whatever thing or whatever person who provides immediate comfort and security. They offer safety and we offer our compliance. That’s how we end up slaves to money, jobs, perception, beauty, and acceptance. We carry out a plan, but not the Lord’s, and make an alliance, but not from God’s Spirit (Isa 30:1). This Holy Week ask God to reveal any unholy agreements you’ve made and walk away before it causes damage you can’t undo.
Father, teach me to not fear. Jesus, give me your courage. Holy Spirit, set me free.

Some preachers speak on Peter dening Jesus. This was before the holy spirit came to live with him. Can one still deny Jesus after salvation?
